Haemorroids

Haemorrhoids, commonly known as piles, are swollen veins present within or around the anus. Typically, piles of grades 1 and 2 are harmless. But when the haemorrhoids increase in size and become swollen, a person experiences different symptoms, which can hamper daily life. The symptoms associated with piles include extreme itching, pain, and swelling around the anus; pain and burning while passing stools; and blood in stools. 

The most common cause for piles is excessive straining on the anus or rectum. Excessive straining creates pressure on the surrounding veins, causing them to swell. Other causes include increased pressure on your lower belly due to pregnancy or weight gain, constipation, chronic cough, sitting for a long time, and lifting heavy objects.
